Managed AI and GEO
The managed programme is the audit turned into a monthly cycle: track how the main answer engines describe a business, fix what the tracking exposes, and report what changed and why. Most of the work in a given month is unglamorous, and that is the point. Entity details drift, structured data breaks silently when a plugin updates, crawler policies change, competitors publish. It exists because this is not a project that finishes.

What happens each month
- The fixed question set is run again. The same questions, the same way, logged out, across four surfaces, on two separate days. Recorded whether the answer is good or bad, so the record is comparable rather than flattering.
- The technical position is re-checked. Access, structured data validity and entity consistency. This is where silent breakage is caught, and something breaks more months than it does not.
- One or two pieces of work are done. A page rewritten, a set of entity records corrected, a sub question that nobody owns given a home. Small and specific beats a quarterly relaunch.
- The numbers are collected and read. GA4, Search Console generative AI report, Bing AI Performance, branded query volume.
- The report is written by the person who did the work. Not generated. It says what changed, what it appears to have done, and what remains uncertain.
What we track, and where
| Surface | What we can actually see | How we see it |
|---|---|---|
| Google AI Overviews and AI Mode | Impressions and clicks, combined across both | Search Console generative AI report |
| Microsoft Copilot and Bing | Citations by page, grounding queries, citation share | Bing Webmaster Tools AI Performance |
| ChatGPT | Whether you are named, and referral sessions | Recorded manual checks, plus the GA4 AI Assistant channel |
| Perplexity | The full source list for each answer | Recorded manual checks, which is all that is needed here |
| Everything | Branded search volume as a leading indicator | Search Console, queries containing your brand |
Note what is missing from that table: any surface where we claim a position or a rank. There is no ranking to report on these surfaces, and a supplier presenting one has invented a metric.
What the reporting looks like
One page of what changed, then the evidence behind it, then a short section on what we are uncertain about. Written for somebody who was not in the room, in a form a finance director can question. Where a number moved and we do not know why, it says so. Where branded search rose alongside our work, it is described as consistent with an effect rather than caused by it, because that is what the evidence supports.
We would rather hand over a report that admits two open questions than one that answers everything confidently. The second is easier to write and does not survive a year.
Pricing and commitment
| Included | From | |
|---|---|---|
| Managed programme | Monthly monitoring across four surfaces, technical re-checks, one to two pieces of implementation work a month, and a written report | £500 a month |
| With content production | The above plus commissioned writing against the sub question map | Quoted |
| With digital PR | The above plus the corroboration work, which is what moves the hard cases | Quoted |
Three months minimum, then monthly. Three months is not a sales device: the first month is baseline and fixes, the second is the first comparable read, and the third is the first point at which anything can be said about direction. A one month engagement would take your money and tell you nothing.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum commitment?
Three months, then rolling monthly. The first month is baseline and fixes, the second gives the first comparable measurement, and the third is the earliest point at which a direction can honestly be described. Shorter than that and you are paying for a report.
How does this sit alongside our existing SEO retainer?
It overlaps deliberately and should not be bought twice. If you already have an SEO retainer covering technical work and content, a good deal of the programme is already paid for and we will scope around it rather than duplicate it. Tell us who does what and we will price the gap.
What happens in month one?
The audit if you have not had one, the measurement baseline, the access fixes, and the first run of the fixed question set. Very little visible change and a great deal of groundwork, which is the honest description.
Can we start with the audit and decide later?
That is the usual route and the one we recommend. The audit stands alone, the findings are yours either way, and the fee is credited against the first invoice if you continue.
